MALAYSIAN PRIME MINISTER MOHAMAD MEETS WITH TURKISH DEFENSE INDUSTRY SECTOR AT SSB’S HOSPITALITY

Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir MOHAMAD, during his visit to Turkey, met with Turkish defense industry companies under the hospitality of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), with the participation of Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank. During the visit to the facilities of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), the SSB held a presentation on potential collaborations between Malaysia and Turkish defense industry companies.

Following the SSB presentation introducing the Turkish Defense Industry, Prime Minister MOHAMAD toured TUSAŞ’s facilities and was briefed on the indigenous platforms developed by the company. After the factory tour, Prime Minister MOHAMAD watched flight demonstrations of ANKA, ATAK, and HÜRKUŞ.

Regarding the meeting with Prime Minister MOHAMAD and potential collaborations, President of the Presidency of Defense Industries, Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir stated, "At the LIMA 2019 fair held in Malaysia in March, the Prime Minister showed great interest in our country's defense industry and visited our companies one by one. During today’s visit, we had the opportunity to discuss the defense industry cooperation opportunities between our two countries and showcase our capabilities. As in the past, our strategic cooperation with our brotherly country, Malaysia, will continue to grow."
