GÖKTÜRK EARTH OBSERVATION
SATELLITE SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

GÖKTÜRK Earth Observation Satellite System Development (GÖKTÜRK-Y) Project aims to develop an indigenous satellite system, which enables Turkish Armed Forces to sustain its very high-resolution electro-optical remote sensing capability obtained with the GÖKTÜRK-1 Satellite System even after its design life ends.

GÖKTÜRK-Y Project comprises of development of a Low-Earth-Orbit very high-resolution electro-optical satellite and corresponding ground stations along with the launch and early orbit operations, commissioning activities, and engineering and integrated logistics support.

The contract of the GÖKTÜRK Earth Observation Satellite System Development (GÖKTÜRK-Y) Project has been signed between The Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and Turkish Aerospace in June 2021, and currently project activities are ongoing as planned.
